Time for a Florida Mancation?

So why would guys plan a Florida mancation to Cinnamon Beach in Palm Coast, Florida?  According to ManTripping.com, Florida golf vacations are the second most popular destinations for a mancation and Palm Coast has you covered when it comes to the quality and quantity of courses in the area. However, beyond golf, there are enough activities in the area to spend more than a week in Palm Coast, so here are some ideas and links for planning your mancation:

Racing – Daytona Beach, which is just 30 minutes from Palm Coast, is a mecca for racing enthusiasts.  Whether you are into stock car racing or motorcycle racing, there is no better place to experience it.  With the Daytona 500, the Coke Zero Sugar 400, and Bike Week, the thrill of racing, and the static displays at Daytona International Speedway will amaze.  If your vacation does not line up with one of the many race events at the Daytona International Speedway, consider taking a speedway tour, which provides an exploration of the speedway and its history as the “World Center of Racing.” Want something even more thrilling; consider the Richard Petty driving experience, which features the opportunity to drive a real NASCAR race car at the speedway.

Golf – There are many golf courses in the area that are open to the public, including Pine Lakes, Cypress Knoll, Hammock Beach Ocean Course, Grand Reserve, and Palm Harbor.  In St. Augustine, there is the only collaboration between golf’s greatest legends, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus measuring 7,279 yards (King & Bear) at World Golf Village in addition to the Slammer & Squire Course.  Also in St. Augustine, the World Golf Hall of Fame provides unique displays and exhibits in its 35,000 square foot museum to the sport and its players.

Gaming – The Daytona Beach Racing and Card Club provides poker games and simulcast racing of thoroughbred and harness horse racing, Greyhound races, and Jai Alai from tracks around the country.

Fishing and other water activities – Whether you want to surf fish, deep-sea fish, or try your hand at some backwater fishing in the intercoastal waterway, the options are endless.  As an alternative to a guided fishing trip, consider renting a boat to explore the intercoastal waterway.  You can choose from renting a bowrider, bass boat, or pontoon boat.  You can also explore the local water via surfboard, paddleboards, or kayaks in addition to boating.  This exploration can be done by yourself or with a guide.

Surfing – While at the beach, you might want to try surfing. You can rent boards and arrange for individual and group

Hunting – Florida offers a diverse set of hunting options, including hog, turkey, alligator, deer, and bow fishing.  Experienced hunting guides can take you and your party on day or night hunts.

Ride the Loop - Whether you own a motorcycle or want to rent a motorcycle while on your vacation, riding along the Ormond Loop is an amazing experience.  While in the area, check out the unique motorcycle related businesses on Main Street, in Daytona Beach

Dining, Ale Houses and Cigars – Whether you are looking for fancy dining options, pub grub, or fresh seafood, the area will not disappoint.  You can try something different every night.  I have already written several blogs on local dining options.   If you are looking for a local brewhouse, check out Moonrise Brewing Company, located in the European Village.  Also located in the European Village is the HumidorCigar Bar and Lounge, where you can find your favorite cigar and enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine.

Live Music -  There are many live music venues where the music genre can vary from instrumental, reggae, rock, and country.

Beaches and Pools – After a few days of area activities, chilling on the beach might be what is needed.  There are miles of beaches in Palm Coast and Flagler Beach to explore.  If you are looking for more of a pool vibe, the Cinnamon Beach Ocean Pool is a 65,000-gallon pool heated in the winter and provides easy access to the Cinnamon Beach Grille, providing libations and lunch options for lounging around the pool.  If chilling on the beach is on your agenda, Coastal Cabana offers a nice cabana rental option right on Cinnamon Beach.

There are so many possible activities in the area that you cannot explore them all in a week!  However, I hope this brief description gets you excited about planning your next guys’ trip to Cinnamon Beach!

See you at the beach!
