International Dining Options in Palm Coast

Palm Coast dining has an amazing diversity of international restaurants.  It reflects the melting pot of cultures that have been welcomed into this community.  I have put together a starter list for you to try and I highly recommend that you verify operating hours as many restaurants are closed on either Sunday or Monday and may not have updated their website to reflect current operating hours and days.  I have tried to indicate which ones require reservations.

French – La Creperie Kafe

We recently found this French café in the heart of Palm Coast at the end of a strip center.  It is small, with quality food and service.  This is a great option for a lighter breakfast with a touch of international panache.  They service a traditional American breakfast and croissants, quiche, waffles, and of course, crepes.

They serve a special French dinner the first Friday and every Saturday by reservation only.  The meal is a preset selection so call ahead for the menu and dinner reservations.

Mexican - Cantina Mr. Pancho and Cantina Louie

Okay, you are getting two options in this category because they are quite different.  If you are looking for a traditional Mexican restaurant, then Cantina Mr. Pancho is the choice.  The Cantina is in a small strip center, but inside it is inviting and colorful.  Check out their website for daily specials. Cantina Louie is one of the newest restaurants in Palm Coast, but it has been around in other north Florida cities since 2014. They specialize in Mexican Street Food.   They have combined a festive atmosphere with a vast dinner menu, and a nice selection on their affordable lunch and kids menus.   The menu has the biggest selection of taco options I have seen anywhere – they have 16 different tacos on the menu.

Indian – 5th Element

This location in the European Village is one of five sites in central Florida.  I am by no means an aficionado of Indian food, but I have enjoyed my visits.   The staff is attentive and helpful in making selections.  I have an uncle of Indian descent who recently purchased a home in Palm Coast, and this is his favorite Indian restaurant.  After an afternoon of golf, this is our go-to place.

Portugal  Portugal Wine Bar & Grill  and Lisbon at Night Restaurant & Lisbon Café

Yes, there are two Portuguese restaurants worth considering.  The Portugal Wine Bar & Grill is a small family-run restaurant located in a strip center in the heart of Palm Coast.  I have enjoyed two meals here, where we all tried something different.  The wine list does provide some unique South American selections.  The Paella is excellent and is large enough for two to share.   This restaurant is laid back and accommodating without reservations.

Lisbon at Night Restaurant & Lisbon Caféis located in the European Village and has a full menu of Mediterranean food and wines to make you feel like you’re sitting in Lisbon.  Step out and try the octopus.   Lisbon is more of a date night than a family night location.  Reservations required.  Check their Facebook page for specials.

Vietnamese – Tram’s Cafe

The newest addition to the European Village is a Vietnamese Tea and Juice Bar that also serves Pho and Banh Mi (Vietnamese Hoagies). An excellent option for lunch or light dinner.

Thailand - Thai by Thai

This new addition to the Palm Coast family expands the Asian food scene by offering traditional Thai noodle soups, curry dishes, Pad Thai, and various rice dishes.  They have an extensive menu, and the restaurant is clean and inviting.  They get a big lunch crowd, so go early or come for dinner.

Cuban
 – Cuban Restaurant, Latino Market & Bakery

Not sure that I need to describe the restaurant with that name.  This restaurant is a traditional Latin lunch spot, with sandwiches, meat plates, plantains, fruit-filled shakes, and of course, flan for dessert.

Japanese (Sushi) – Kawa Sushi

I’m a novice in Sushi, so I can only say this place has 4 ½ stars.  Open for lunch and close by 8 pm. I am hoping to try it on our next visit.

Italian – La Piazza Café and Osteria Rustica

There are many Italian restaurants and Pizza shops in Palm Coast, but these two are the best Italian restaurants in Palm Coast.  La Piazza, located in European Village, is the fancier of the two Italian restaurants in the European Village.  If you are looking for pizza or a quick meal with the kids, go to the other one.  If you are out with friends or date night, either La Piazza Café or Osteria Rustica will exceed expectations.  La Piazza has a lovely dining room as well as outdoor dining.  Reservations are needed for weekends and peak seasons.  They have a vast menu ranging from meats, seafood, and various pasta dishes.  The Antipasto Italiano appetizer provides a varied and plentiful variety of meats, cheeses, and olives.  They also usually have a handful of nightly specials, which are always amazing.

Once we discovered Osteria Rustica, we go every time we are in town.  This is the only restaurant on this list not in Palm Coast but is located next door just across the city limits into Bunnell.  This small family-operated restaurant feels like you just walked into a restaurant in Naples, Italy.  The family is always friendly and inviting, wine recommendations are spot on, and the menu goes on for days.  Everything is made fresh in the restaurant, which is impressive considering the size of the restaurant.  They always have a large selection of specials, and we almost always go with the appetizer special, which has always been something unique.  Osteria Rustica is a date night location, with attire a step up from basic beach attire.  Reservations are a must and should be made at least a week in advance.  Plan on spending a couple of hours and savor a perfect meal.  Pricing is on the higher side of local restaurants.

I will have future blogs on family restaurants, seafood, and great delivery options.
