Best Takeout and Delivery Dining for Cinnamon Beach

Usually, a day at the beach zaps your energy, and fixing dinner is not always high on the list of things to do on vacation.  So, takeout or delivery is a great option, especially when staying in a vacation rental with all the necessities to enjoy dining. 

 

Takeout

Almost all restaurants in Palm Coast and Flagler Beach offer the ability to order takeout.  I am going to provide some insight into restaurants that are remarkably close to Cinnamon Beach.

JT’s Seafood Shack is right on AIA just west of Cinnamon Beach.  It is a great Florida Seafood restaurant with dinner specials several nights a week, live music, and a lively bar.  They have both inside and outside dining options.  They do a great job of preparing everything on their menu to go.  It is so close to Cinnamon Beach that you will be able to get the food back to the condo, still piping hot and ready to eat.

386 is a fining dining restaurant with a children’s, pizza, and a regular menu with daily specials.  They have recently gone to an almost daily dinner menu, so it is best to call them and ask them to send you a photo of the dinner menu.  386 is just north on AIA, minutes from Cinnamon Beach.  386 is a great option when you want something a little nicer.

Captain’s BBQ is one of the best spots for BBQ in Florida.  The ribs are amazing.  The turkey sandwich is juicy, and the sides are southern.  I have always just called in the order versus using their online ordering system.  The food is pulled together quickly and is almost always ready when I arrive.  Captain’s, located at Bing Landing park, offers picnic tables under live oaks in front of the intercoastal waterway.  Getting takeout and eating out in the park is a great option.  

 

Delivery

Hammock Pizza is located in the Hammock area of AIA in a Citgo gas station.  They provide the typical selection of pizzas and non-pizza items of the national chains, with more sandwiches, salads, and appetizers options.  They only take orders by phone so check out the menu and then call.

Mezzaluna Pizzeria is a great Italian restaurant in the European Village, with a casual atmosphere and varied Italian dishes, salads, and pizzas. They provide delivery service in house.

Joe’s NY Pizza and Pasta.  Open for lunch and dinner; Joe’s is not your typical delivery pizza shop.  The menu is extensive and includes a great salad and dessert options.  They handle their delivery and change the days and hours for delivery often, so call first to confirm delivery ability.

 

Restaurant Delivery Services

Currently, the only two delivery services operating with a reasonable number of restaurants are DoorDash and UberEats.  There are options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  I would be a little concerned about having breakfast delivered due to the limited demand at that time for drivers.  Nothing worse than a cold breakfast. 

Which service is better?  I would give the edge to DoorDash as they have more local restaurants and most do not have a delivery fee.  Almost all the restaurants using UberEats have a delivery fee ranging from $1.49 to $4.49.

While most restaurants available on Door Dash are national chain restaurants, there are some great local options, including Sushi 99, Cantina Mr. Pancho (Mexican), Joe’s New Your Pizza & Pasta, Mamaling Asian Street Food, and Metro Diner.  Some of the national chains available for delivery include Chick-fil-A, Cracker Barrel, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Denny’s, IHOP, Subway, and Wendy’s, Outback, and Carrabba’s Italian Grill.

Grocery Store Dining

If you are not from the Southeast, you may not be familiar with Publix. This great grocery store offers an outstanding shopping experience, deli food, seafood, and fresh bakery items.  The deli offers some of the best rotisserie chicken, made to order sub sandwiches, fried chicken tenders, and an assortment of sides.  One secret dinner option at Publix is getting your shrimp or other seafood steamed to order at no additional cost (usually ready in five minutes).  They have a variety of seasonings they can put on it.  We typically go with a spicy old bay and garlic combo.  Grab some sides at the deli, and dinner is ready.

 

Grocery Delivery Service

InstaCart is both a grocery shopping and delivery service.  You have to select the items you wish to purchase through the website or app, schedule a delivery time, and pay a delivery charge.  They currently charge $3.99 per delivery and require a minimum delivery of $35.  The primary grocery in the area to use InstaCart is Publix.  Additionally, if you want them only to shop for you, you arrange to pick up the items within a few hours.  Please make sure you select the store location carefully, as there are several in the area that offers the shopping service.

 

Things to Remember

If you are staying in a vacation rental with a guard gate, remember to contact the guard on duty to let them know that you have a food delivery.  Additionally, most but not all, restaurants do not charge for delivery, so it is essential to ask if there is a fee or a minimum purchase requirement.  Remember to tip your delivery driver.

As the pandemic has caused may restaurants to change operating hours, menus, and takeout and delivery options, it is essential to prepare ahead for your takeout or delivery meal and ensure you understand the restaurant’s current requirements.
