Cinnamon Beach and the Flagler beach area have great family and romantic photo spots to memorialize your beach vacation.  Regardless of how many places you want to take photos, don’t wait until the last vacation day to start your photo excursions.  It is best to plan a shot each day so that your family does not get tired, and it will help ensure you are taking the photo at the right time of day at each location.

Cinnamon Beach

Everyone wants to get some great photos on the beach.  There are different types of shots you can achieve based on the location of the sun.  You can start at sunrise, with beautiful ocean sunrise photos with foreground shadow options.  Mid-morning is a great time to capture portrait shots around the beach and dunes.  An hour before dusk, the golden hour, is also a great time to have the ocean as a backdrop for your family photos.

Washington Oaks Garden State Park

There are two main areas of the park: the gardens and the beach.  The gardens provide a fantastic array of photo locations, including a massive live oak tree, rose garden, fish pond, and tree-covered canopy roadway.  The best time to take these photos is in the afternoon on a sunny day.  The beach at Washington Oaks is unique due to the number of coquina rocks along this coastline.  It makes for a beautiful backdrop.  The best time to shoot pictures is about an hour before dusk.

Flagler Beach Pier

If you are looking for artistic pier photographs, the best time to come is sunrise.  Otherwise, for family photos, it is best to take pictures about an hour before dusk. Below the pier is an excellent location for a family photo

Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park

The Park in Flagler Beach contains an antebellum plantation and sugar mill, surrounded by large live oak trees with moss-covered branches.  The ruins make a great photo backdrop.  The best time for photos is mid-day to mid-afternoon.

Princess Place Preserve

This beautiful 1,500-acre Preserve, situated in the northern part of Flagler County, has fantastic architecture and natural beauty that will enhance any photo.  The original lodge and the surrounding saltwater marshes make for excellent photographic backdrops.  The diversity of photographic locations will allow you to select the best places for the lighting at the time of your visit.  Mid-morning or late afternoon would be the best times.

Sally's Ice Cream

Ice cream creations, kids, and summer heat make for a great photoshoot.  Remember to bring some paper towels to clean up.  Sally’s is an ice cream institution in Flagler Beach.  Any time in the afternoon or early evening is best for photography.  The more toppings, the better the photo!

Mural Locations

Wall murals can make a great vacation photo to share.  Our area has several great options. Whaam Burger, Flagler Beach, is a beachside burger bar with a fun comic book vibe.  There are murals on both the inside and out of the restaurant.
